Thomas Riley – or “Riley,” as he is known by friends and associates – is a sought-after sales and marketing strategy
consultant with a winning way, a talent for turning a phrase, and a sensibility for successful strategies. Riley first fanned
his passion for the power of words and his penchant for helping people as a prolific songwriter, performer, promoter and MC,
working with some of Manhattan’s preeminent clubs of the ’80s, and he is still well known in songwriting circles today.
Falling in love with the fast-growing “foodie” end of the business in the ’90s, he worked his way up through the ranks in
the hospitality industry with Hilton Hotels Corporation. Learning a lot about, loving and living the then-trending “natural”
lifestyle, he ended up as part owner and Operations Manager of one of New York Metro’s oldest and most-loved health
food stores, originally founded by the DeBoles pasta people. And, from there, he worked as part of the team that took
local New York City distributor Island Natural from a small natural products distributor to one of the largest in the
New York metropolitan area, working with all the most well-known Food & Beverage, Health & Beauty and Supplement
natural brands in the industry and many of the top natural and conventional retailers on the East Coast.
Today, the New York City- and now also Miami-based veteran natural products specialist touts experience and expertise
in all of the industry’s categories, and serves as Founder and President of Riley McCartney Associates, overseeing its
Life of Riley Marketing and NatPreneur Consulting divisions, as well as the new FlyersForBuyers.com interactive platform.
Debora McCartney Riley has a broad background in marketing, advertising, publications and public relations. She
started out as a writer and managing editor for New York’s Nightlife magazine in the ’80s, reviewing and promoting
many of New York Metro’s top clubs and restaurants.
A talented writer, voice-over artist and “people person,” Deb was a “natural” at promoting people, products, places and
publications, and she then spent the next 10 years as an account executive and vice president for agencies in both New
York City and South Florida, as well as a partner in her own boutique firm, specializing in marketing communication,
copywriting and graphics, advertising and promotions, and representing such companies as
HBO, Condé Nast, Marriott, Hilton and Disney.
She then served on the corporate side as a Marketing Communications Director and Advertising / Public Relations
Director for New York-based international pioneering natural / supplement brands Twinlab and Nature’s Answer,
respectively. Debora now continues to put her agency and corporate marketing expertise to work as a natural products
marketing consultant, serving as Vice President and Director of Marketing and Operations for
all Riley McCartney Associates’ activities.
